(This
piece was created by Dan Deweese as a full-time employee of
Lutheran Hour Ministries, and not on a freelance basis.)
The Challenge: "On
Main Street," a weekly half-hour television talk show,
needed more market share. Envoy, the show's production company,
was confident that a high-profile interview scheduled with
former President Jimmy Carter would impress prospective stations,
and wanted to get the word out.
The
Solution: Deweese Design made a direct mail
piece to grab the interest of program managers and explain
to them how "On Main Street" could help boost their
ratings overall. A silhouette of Carter is used on the cover
of the mailer to pique interest with the headline, "Book
the year's most refreshing interview for less than peanuts.
(tagline) And that gives you a clue to the guest."
